This material allows for the Iris X NXT to be photochromatic, automatically adjusting to darker or lighter conditions, polarized, to eliminate horizontal distortion for superior depth perception and clarity, and color boosting high chromatic definition, eliminating the negative affect of flat light conditions. Voil, all the normal sight issues solved, and of top of that the NXT lens gets a oleophobic and hydrophobic treatment to repel oils and water, so no more finger prints on your lens and snow slide right off after a face shot.
